The Center for Indoor Air Quality and Human Health is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing research, education, and health-focused guidance related to indoor environmental exposure.
The Purified Environments Provider Network™ (PEPN™) operates as an independent governance alliance aligned with the work of the Center. The Center is led by Dr. Andrew Heyman, MD, MHSA, and brings together medical experts, research scientists, and policy professionals to advance education, data collection, and research publication related to indoor environmental health.
PEPN™ standards and governance frameworks are informed by emerging science and clinical insight translated by the Center, while remaining fully operationally and organizationally independent. This alignment supports PEPN™’s mission to elevate environmental practice through clinically relevant, defensible, and scalable governance—without creating endorsement, control, or dependency between the organizations.

Dr. Heyman is triple Board certified in Family Medicine, Integrative Medicine and Anti-Aging and Regenerative Medicine. He currently serves as Medical Director of Integrative Medicine at The George Washington University, overseeing graduate education, degree programs, research, and clinical services, and managing an interdisciplinary faculty.
Prior to this role, he spent 16 years at the University of Michigan helping build one of the largest academic-based Integrative Medicine programs in the United States. He also serves as Director of Academic Affairs for the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine, overseeing curriculum, faculty, and training for thousands of medical professionals.
Dr. Heyman is considered an expert in biotoxin illness and CIRS, has co-authored work with Dr. Ritchie Shoemaker, and conducts research in neuroinflammation, proteomics, and transcriptomics. He remains clinically active and is a widely sought-after speaker on integrative medicine topics.
